I'm guessing we wouldn't actually be involved in the creative side of things. I suspect they are looking to us for support as possible investors or distribution partners.

Most likely they want us to screen the film before release so they can get a better idea of how it will go over.

I loved the movie and all of the shows, especially Atlantis and even Universe. I am looking at the Atlantis box set on BluRay  sitting on my shelf right now. I would love to help in any way that I can. On the off chance that there is any paid work available, I could use it.

Series: http://thesiborg.com/ http://familymediasite.com/ http://tdmcomics.com/ http://post-up.me/ Captain James T. Kirk was wrong, as "Space, the Final Frontier" was NOT the Last Frontier.."CYBER-SPACE" really/Truly is; Why?? Because "CYBER-SPACE" Does Exist whether within Earthly Realms, or Even within Outer Space. "IF One can open up His/Her Minds" to the Possibilities of Other Realms and that whether in or out of "Space" we have "CYBER-SPACES" then WE can Achieve even Greater Things and Even Greater Films and Series and Technological Achievements!!!

I'm in!  Enjoyed the movie.  Loved SG1.  Liked SGA.  Didn't watch SGU.

Karen,

SGU started off rough, soon my wife saw "sex in the closet" she was very upset and said "This is NOT Stargate" and pretty much left the room. It took almost entire season for them to see that this dark SGU90210 controversial didn't work so well and this was not going to be another Battlestar for the SyFy channel. In addition they insulted many of the fans as Joe Flanigan talked about in his video! They went back to more the SG exploration idea in Season 2 and ratings jumped but the damage had been done... It was sad to see it go I loved many of the cast and it was starting to blend more, but canceling Atlantis was the biggest mistake the network ever did! SGA would have went past SGU I feel or even saved SGU had they done more crossover episodes... Some the biggest episodes were the cross over ones and we see this now with shows like ARROW/SUPERGIRL/FLASH...

I'm glad to know that they realized the mistake, but you're right -- the damage had been done.  I wanted adventure, not soap opera, which is why I didn't watch BSG either.

It was the ALIENS and ADVENTURE & that great comedy that kept those shows alive, either it was Col O'Neil's looks in the movie or even RDA's humor in the series, who didnt love that dialog or banter between McKay and Sheppard! ! Kurt Russel is a amazing actor but the genius of Richard Dean Anderson can not be overlooked either!

After 20 years in the Navy I can say how much they got right!!! Many I know do not understand why the series was just that GOOD... whether it was AF lingo or the fact that Jackson and Teal'c were not military and the small details like lacing your boots lazy or having that military bearing and making them squared away like O'Neill, Cam or Carter did! These details were amazing and all this was spanned from Roland and Dean's groundwork...  To try to separate these facts and that even the movie vests and boots went on to be the same brand and look used in the series later is amazing just from the costume dept standpoint!

I would love to help in any way I can. Loved everything about the series and 🎥's. To this day if I see an episode on anywhere I have to stop and watch that episode.

I am a HUGE Stargate Fan!  I love both the movie and the TV Shows.  Amanda Tapping is my hero!  I would be very interested in participating in anything Stargate related.

I'm going to stand on the side of the Stargate creators and say that by making such an amazing movie that launched  such a successful set of series, they've earned a chance to tell their Original story, sans the series storyline.

I know that is hard for those of us with such an emotional attachment to the characters, storylines and personality of each show, but we don't own this story, we never did. Interactions online with cast and crew of many shows has led to a trend of 'fan entitlement', but the reality is that writers, directors, producers and actors haven't and shouldn't change the way they work just because some fans complain about changes, or  beg for changes. Their interaction is purely promotional, except the rare few who also teach their craft with their interaction. So this notion that we, the fans, should try to direct any sort of change to a storyline that has existed in Dean's and Roland's head since the first film is disrespectful to a creator's right to tell their story their way.

Flame away, but I know too many writers who face this problem daily to have any other opinion.
