  2. Yes I forgot about stranger things, I thought it was much better than many of the other shows and should definitely won something for writing or direction
  3. Ha! They wouldn't get too far with my info... my credit sucks.
  4. We watched the Emmys last night and I must say, I am disappointed that Stranger Things didn't get an award.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Uhm... I hope to be on that stage one day getting an Emmy for one of my shows... I had to DVR the Emmys so I don't know who got what other than John Lithgow got an award for his portrayal of Churchill in The Crown. (Which is spectacular, btw.)
  7. Yes @Karen C that would be a great idea and would spread the love in addition to stop antagonizing the viewer who at the end of the day decide whether something is successful or not. I'm very glad to see big little lies won a few awards last night as I like it was the best thing on in past year.
  8. I imagine when award shows started they were more altruistic in nature, but over the decades have devolved into showy spectacles that seem to be more about self-promotion of their industry, IMO. It also doesn't help that so many of the same people are nominated year after year. They almost seems like private events for the in-crowd. The Broadway Tonys have a unique approach. A play or musical can only be nominated during its first year. After that, no matter how many years it runs, it cannot be nominated again (unless it comes back later as a revival with a new production). Imagine what the Emmys would look like if they had that same restriction. Or if nominees could only win once per category, and after winning were ineligible to be nominated again. The nominating committees would really have to break out of their comfort zones to find new candidates.

  10. Welcome, Vic! You can post here about about Cons. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
  11. The first episode, The hood maker, just aired tonight and wow, it's very dark, miserable and deep. And I loved it for all these reasons. The bleakness of the story and the production design going hand in hand and with a stellar cast it just elevated the whole experience. I'm now looking forward to the rest of the series.
  12. Hi Deborah, Please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page to send me your full name and email address and I will look into the problem. Also please provide any details that might help, such as whether you can get into the general forums or not, or if it's just the writing club you can't access. Thanks!
  13. Hi, Deborah @Karen C will be able to help you.
  14. Need an account for the writers' forum. I'm a professional writer with some celebrity clients. Cannot log in. I used my investor email address and the correct pw.
  15. As the Emmy awards are on tonight I thought that this would be a great time to begin a discussion on awards in general. Do they really matter in the great scheme of things or is it just an excuse for Hollywood to congratulate itself and spend an obscene amount of money in doing so? On a personal note, if Big Little Lies doesn't win every award tonight then I believe that the Emmy awards are rubbish.
  16. Welcome to Legion M Vic, There are some discussion threads on gaming in the fandom threads with a few different types of games discussed.
  17. Greetings from Arizona! I am Vicpylon, investor (despite what is under my name), loyal legion member and tabletop game blogger and podcaster. My tabletop game scribblings and rants for the past 10 years can be found at Livingdice.com Has there been any discussion about a Legion presence at Gencon or Origins in the interests of extending their reach into the gaming community? Vic
  18. Sad, but true! On the other hand, I can't help but wonder if Equifax can survive the lawsuits. I guess it will depend on how much damage has been done. I know of several people who "may have been affected," but haven't heard about anyone whose info has been used -- yet.
  19. Sorry, I won't be joining for September. Personal issues going on and Dune will be too much for me to commit to.
  20. Welcome! Scotland is on my bucket list of places to visit! (So is the rest of the UK! )
  21. Welcome to the Legion M family @Stuart Gillies and I hope that you have fun and a great time interacting with your fellow members and investors.
  22. Nice to see a few more NC peeps popping up on here! I'm originally from Scotland, but am now a US citizen and reside near Greensboro, NC
  23. Yeah, I imagine with a hack this major, everyone may have been affected. Kind of gives you second thoughts about filling out even more info to get their credit monitoring My son was asking me last night if I thought we had been hacked. I told him the chances were if we weren't there, we probably had been somewhere else! Seems like no website is safe any more. Of course my other thought on the whole matter is.......good buying opportunity on Equifax stock!
  24. Welcome! You should consider joining the Writing Club!
